Morston Pond - 10th March 2025
Morston Pond - 10th March 2025

The second week of March in north Norfolk saw utterly balmy weather - higher than expected temperatures - and an ideal opportunity to continue our improvements around Morston Pond.

Mating season continues and so it was decided not to disturb the precious wildlife by entering the water and making grabs for Crassula and Parrot's Feather. The little amphibians require shelter from predators as well as oxygenated, clear water (which keeps the toad and frog spawn afloat in warmer weather) and Crassula provides just this protection. In addition, Parrot's Feather provides the best habitat for newts, until they have finished their breeding season.
